Introduction
Computer Science and Technology
The Computer Science and Technology program is designated as one of the first National First-Class Undergraduate Program construction sites in China, with its discipline recognized as a national first-level key discipline and included in the "Double First-Class" initiative. The program features a distinguished faculty where nearly half of the members hold national-level talent awards. Core research directions encompass next-generation artificial intelligence, cloud-native computing systems, domain-specific operating systems and system software, cyberspace security and cryptographic infrastructure, Internet of Things and edge computing, along with theoretical computer science and innovative methodologies. In curriculum development, the program extensively incorporates the latest advances in domestic hardware and software technologies and real-world enterprise cases, taking the lead in integrating teaching materials related to key proprietary technologies including Ascend AI chips and HarmonyOS. Through sustained collaboration with industry leaders such as Huawei, Tencent, Alibaba, and Sensetime, the program has established joint off-campus practice bases, effectively implementing teaching methodologies that merge industry with education. Students have achieved exceptional competition results, including three global championships in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, while the university remains the only institution in the over-three-decade history of China's National Mathematical Contest in Modeling to accomplish a grand slam of all three top awards and holds the world record for the highest number of Outstanding Winner prizes in the Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling.
Information Security
The program is one of the first batch of national cybersecurity talent cultivation bases and is also selected as the National top-tier Cybersecurity Development Initiative. It currently hosts over 10 national and provincial-level scientific research platforms, including the National Engineering Research Center for Information Content Analysis Technology. It maintains long-term exchanges and cooperation with renowned universities and enterprises at home and abroad, and has achieved a host of landmark outcomes. In terms of curriculum design, it has realized the integrated cultivation of undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students, and established research directions such as Novel Cryptography's Theoretical Technology and Engineering, Next-Generation Network Systems and Application Security, Network Information Content Security and Governance, Advanced Data Security and Privacy Computing Technology, and Security of Emerging Information Technologies (e.g., quantum computing, AI, blockchain). Aligned with the frontiers of global academia and national strategic needs, this program aims to cultivate comprehensive high-caliber talents who master the fundamental theories and methods of information security, possess a solid theoretical foundation and technological innovation capabilities, demonstrate a strong sense of social responsibility, critical thinking, and teamwork spirit, and are competent for work in design, research, development, and management. This program is a national first-class undergraduate program construction site.
Software Engineering
The Software Engineering program, designated as a National First-Class Undergraduate Program and approved in 2021 as one of the first "National Exemplary Software Colleges with Distinctive Features", has developed a three-tiered cultivation system encompassing module-level, system-level, and project-level training by integrating and restructuring traditional computer science courses in response to AI era trends and international best practices. Adhering to the principle of offering a limited number of highly comprehensive courses with solid theoretical foundations and substantial practical workload, the program has established foundational course teams in areas such as "Computer Systems Fundamentals," "Internet Application Development," and "Artificial Intelligence," along with specialized teams in "System Software," "Digital Media Technology," and "Data Intelligence" to enhance students' practical and innovative capabilities, while implementing an integrated undergraduate-master-doctoral curriculum. Over the years, students have achieved outstanding competition results with multiple national top awards in the "Challenge Cup" and Embedded Invitational Contest of Electronic Design Competitions, while maintaining long-term industry collaborations with numerous renowned enterprises that have consistently placed graduate employment rates and quality among the highest at the university.
