Postdoctoral Research Fellows

Applications are invited for joining the Key Laboratory of Shanghai Education Commission for Intelligent Interaction and Cognitive Engineering (IICE), Shanghai Jiao Tong University for postdoctoral research fellow vacancies.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University is one of the top-ranked universities in China. The Research Center on Intelligent Interaction and Cognitive Engineering (IICE) carries out research on Brain-inspired computing, Brain-Computer Interaction, Machine Learning, Affective Computing Computer Vision, and Speech and Language Processing. It has several joint research projects with the RIKEN/Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, University of Cambridge, Technische Universit?t Berlin, Kyoto University, University of Toronto, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology which are the leading research groups in the world.

We are currently recruiting for 4-6 postdoctoral research fellows in the following directions:

• Brain-computer interaction and Applications
• Natural language and speech signal processing
• Affective computing
• Human-computer interaction
• Machine Learning and Applications
• Computer vision and Data Analysis

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

• Successfully completed a PhD degree in computer science or its relevant areas.
• Proven experience in the fields of machine learning, Brain-computer interface and computer vision.
• Thorough understanding of machine learning methods (SVM, Random Forest, Deep Neural Networks, etc.) and recommended practice in Feature Extraction, Dimensionality Reduction.
• Excellent programming skills and experience with popular software tools (R, Matlab, Python), as well as experience in professional software development technologies
• Experience in open source development and research project application is preferred

Description:

The Computer Science & Engineering Department is inviting the application for a department IT Manager/System Engineer position. You are expected to work independently or lead a team of technical assistants to fulfill the department's various IT needs.

The tasks include (but are not limited to):

1.Maintenance/update of the department home page and the intranet pages

2.Administer the department servers including the web server, file server, mail server, printer server, etc - including setting up user accounts, installing programs upon request, configuring the various user programs, setting up quotas, performing backup, etc.

3.Write up and maintaining the department IT guide on the web

4.Provide general IT support for the dept faculty, staff and students

5.Provide suggestions on dept IT needs and architect the dept IT infrastructure

6.Liaise with hardware/software vendors who supply IT products to the dept

Qualifications:

1.At least 2-year Experience in Linux/Unix system administration and network administration.

2.Have a passion for 'hacking' but at the same time have or are willing to acquire the knowledge and skill to become an IT architect
