The 19th Pacific Rim International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (PRICAI 2022) was held in Shanghai from Dec 10 to 13, 2022. Organized mainly by the CS Department of SJTU, the conference allowed both online and offline participation. Prof. Cao Jian was the co-chair of the conference’s program committee.

PRICAI is a renowned international conference in the field of artificial intelligence. It covers areas including AI theories, technologies and application, concerning social economy of pacific rim countries. It received a record high of 432 submissions from 28 countries. Adopting double blind mechanism for review, the conference accepted 91 long papers and 39 short papers.

At opening ceremony, Prof. Wu Fan, head of the CS Department, made a speech on behalf of the organizer. He welcomed all the participants, introduced the general situation of the department, and explained the AI related research areas and institutes in CS Department and SJTU. He hoped that the participants could develop communication and cooperation with the department.

Prof. Toby Walsh from the University of New South Wales, Prof. Li Qing from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Prof. Lu Jie from University of Technology Sydney, Dr. Zheng Yu, VP of JD Group, and Dr. Lu Qinghua from CSIRO were invited to give keynote speeches. Three papers won the best paper award. The conference came to a successful conclusion on the afternoon of Nov 13.
