In Dec 2021, ACM China council held the review meeting for the ACM China Rising Star Award. Han Shuai,PhD graduate of the CS Department of SJTU won this honor.  The award was founded by ACM China council in 2014 and one to two young scholars with outstanding potential are selected each year.

Han Shuai obtained his PhD degree from the CS Department of SJTU in 2017. Advised by Prof. Liu Shengli, he has been devoted to the research on public key cryptography. Currently he is working at the Institute of Information Security and Cryptography co-founded by the CS Department and School of Cyber Science and Engineering, SJTU. In the past years, he has made important progress concerning cryptography theory against new attacking technique. His findings have been published in top conferences (Crypto, Asiacrypt and PKC), and journals (JoC, DCC,TCS). He won the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award of Chinese Association for Cryptologic Research in 2019,got selected into Shanghai Young S&T Talent Program in 2020 and China Association for Science and Technology Young Talent Support Program in 2021.

Since 2017, 6 PhD graduates from the CS Department won the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award of Chinese Association for Cryptologic Research and 1 won the ACM China Rising Star Award.
