Assis. Prof. Yi Ran Won the 2021 Shi Qingyun Female Scientist Award

On Dec 6, China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG) announced the awards list of the 2021 Shi Qingyun Female Scientist Award. Only five scholars from around the country were selected. Assis. Prof. Yi Ran from the CS Department of SJTU won the honor. 


The 2021 Shi Qingyun Female Scientist Award received recommendation materials of 33 candidates. CSIG organized evaluation of the materials and a total of five scholars were selected.



Yi Ran is an assistant professor at the CS Department of SJTU. She got bachelor’s degree in 2016 and PhD degree in 2021 from Tsinghua University. Her research is focused on computer graphics, computer vision and computational geometry. She has published more than 20 papers in the past five years in international journals and conferences including IEEE PAMI, ACM TOG, TVCG, CVPR, ICCV and AAAI. 


CSIG set up the Shi Qingyun Female Scientist Award in 2018 in memoriam of Academician Shi Qingyun who made significant contribution to the field of image and graphics in China. The award is aimed to honor female scholars who made outstanding achievements and contributions in the field.
