Recently, Prof. Sheng Bin from the CS Department of SJTU published a paper in Nature Communications. The paper is titled “A Deep Learning System for Detecting Diabetic Retinopathy Across the Disease Spectrum”. The research is based on the world’s largest eye ground image database established by Prof. Jia Weiping of SJTU-affliated Shanghai 6th People’s Hospital. It developed a intelligent system DeepDR for the diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy, which realizes automatic diagnosis of the whole course of diabetic retinopathy and gives real-time feedback on the quality of eye ground image and identification of retinopathy.
