Recently, the Academia Europaea released
the 2019 list of newly-elected members. SJTU CS alumni Hu Zhenjiang, graduated in
1991, was chosen as an international member of the Academia Europaea
The Academia Europaea is one of the most
extensive, academically-renowned and influential scientific organizations in
the world. Its members are mainly selected among the academicians of European
countries, and its membership is seen as a prominent honor to any scholar
worldwide.
Hu Zhenjiang graduated from the Department
of Computer Science and Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1988,
obtained his master’s degree from SJTU in 1991, and received his Ph.D. degree
in Information Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 1996. He has
long been engaged in the research of programming languages and software science
and engineering and has done much pioneering work. He was chosen as a
pioneering scientist of the 21st century by the Japan Science and Technology
Agency. In recent years, Hu Zhenjiang has published many papers in top
international conferences on programming languages such as POPL, PLDI and ICFP
and conferences on software engineering such as ICSE and FSE.
