Prof. Li Jie Elected as a Foreign Academician of the Japanese Academy of Engineering

Recently, Prof. Li Jie received a notice from the President of the Japanese Academy of Engineering that he had been elected a foreign academician of the Japanese Academy of Engineering.


Founded in 1987, The Engineering Academy of Japan is made up of leading and guiding persons from universities, industry and government departments who have made outstanding contributions to engineering, science and technology-related fields. The academy joined the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CETS) in 1990.


Prof. Li Jie has long been committed to innovative research and application promotion in the fields of big data and AI, cloud computing, smart city, Internet of things, network security and information system evaluation. He is the co-chair of the IEEE Big Data Technical Community, the founder and chairman of the IEEE ComSoc Technical Committee on Big Data, and a member of the IEEE Big Data Standards Committee. He served as an editorial board member for seven SCI journals, including IEEE Trans on Cloud Computing、IEEE Trans on Big Data、IEEE Trans on Vehicular Technology、IEEE IoT Journal, etc. He has published more than 300 papers on international academic journals and conferences including IEEE Trans. on Computers、IEEE Trans. on Parallel and Distributed Systems、IEEE Internet of Things (IoT) Journal、IEEE Trans. on Cloud Computing, Big Data Mining and Analytics. He has published one monograph in English and one monograph in Japanese, and edited 5 English academic monographs. He was also the winner of the 2017 IEEE Systems Journal Best Paper Award.
