On the morning of May 15, the awarding conference for the 2018 Shanghai Science and Technology Awards was held at the Friendship Hall of the Shanghai Exhibition Center to solemnly recognize those who have made outstanding contributions to the cause of science, technology and innovation, as well as to the economic and social development of Shanghai. There are 300 awards this year, including 10 for young scholars with outstanding contribution in science and technology, 28 for natural science, 30 for technology invention, 231 for progress in science and technology, and one for international cooperation in science and technology. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of SJTU has won three prizes, including two first prizes of Shanghai Technological Invention and one second prize of Shanghai technological invention.
