On the morning of Oct 10, the World Laureate Forum was grandly inaugurated
at Dishui Lake of Lingang New Town, Shanghai. The forum was hosted by Shanghai
municipal government and organized by Shanghai Lingang Area Development
Administration, Shanghai Lingang Economic Development (Group), Shanghai
Associate for Science & Technology, Global Nobel Prize Scientists
Association and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. More than 30 world top scientist
including 26 Nobel prize winners, over 30 academicians of Chinese Academy of
Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering and a number of young scientists
from home and abroad attended the forum. Topics such as the latest research
progress, frontier prediction and plan, transformation of achievements, talent
cultivation were discussed. As a representative of young scientists, Prof. Yu
Kai attended the session of brain science and AI in the afternoon of Oct 31. He
introduced his work in the field of “conversational AI”, which enables machines
to talk with people and thus connect the digital world to human world. By the
year of 2020 there will be 20 billion digital devices. The use of and the
communication between these devices is destined to bring great changes to human
society.
