Recently, the Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) released the newly elevated fellow class of 2018. Prof. Minyi Guo from School of Electronic, Information and Electrical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University is on the name list, due to his great contributions
to performance optimization and resource management of parallel and distributed
system.
IEEE is
the world's largest professional association with nearly 400,000 members
globally in its over one century history. IEEE Fellow is the most prestigious
honor reserved for select IEEE members. And it is reported that Prof.Guo is
elevated to IEEE fellow from IEEE Computer Society.
Dr. Minyi Guo has been long dedicated to the field of parallel and distributed systems and high performance
computing. He has more than 300 publications in major journals and
international conferences in these areas, and has published 4 books written in
English. He is on the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Parallel and
Distributed Systems and IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing. He is currently
chair professor and head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering,
Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Dr. Guo received the national
science fund for distinguished young scholars from NSFC in 2007, was selected
in the Recruitment Program of Global Experts in China in 2010, and was
appointed as the Chief Scientist of the 973 Program in 2014.
