Prospective graduate students:
I am looking for self-motivated and hardworking students to do exciting research in:
programming languages, databases, or knowledge discovery. Please email your CV if you are interested!

Research

My research interest lies in the intersection of programming languages and databases. In particular, I use programming languages and other techniques to solve data processing problems. I currently do research with three types of data: ad hoc data, free text and mobile data. Ad hoc data is any semi-structured, non-standard data formats such as system log files. Free text is any sequences of textual data written in human language. Mobile data are spatio-temporal data such as movement trajectories.
I'm leading the Advanced Data And Programming Technology (ADAPT) Lab.
