On Oct 30, ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery, recognized its 2019 Distinguished Members for Educational, Engineering and Scientific Contributions to Computing. A total of 62 scientists won this honor. Prof. Guo Minyi from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of SJTU was selected due to outstanding scientific contributions to computing.
Prof. Guo Minyi has been engaged in parallel and distributed systems and high performance computing for a long time. He has published more than 400 papers in various academic journals and conferences and wrote 4 books in English. He is the director of projects funded by the National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, the 973 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the 863 Projects. Prof. Guo is the editor of three international journals, which are IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, and Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing. He is currently the Chair Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He's an IEEE and CCF Fellow.
