CS PhD Candidate Zheng Weilong and Prof. Bao-liang Lu Won the 2016 IEEE TAMD Outstanding Paper Award

Lately, PhD candidate Zheng Weilong and Prof. Bao-liang Lu of the Key Laboratory of Shanghai Education Commission for Intelligent Interaction and Cognitive Engineering of our department received a congratulatory letter from Prof. Pablo A. Estévez, chair of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. It notified them that their paper “Wei-Long Zheng and Bao-Liang Lu, Investigating Critical Frequency Bands and Channels for EEG-based Emotion Recognition with Deep Neural Networks, IEEE Transactions on Autonomous Mental Development (IEEE TAMD), vol. 7, no. 3, pp. 162-175, 2015” won the 2018 IEEE Transactions on Autonomous Mental Development Outstanding Paper Award.


According to the statistics of Google Scholar, the paper has been cited for 27 times. It is also the Most Popular paper for downloading of IEEE TAMD on IEEE Xplore Digital Library.


The IEEE Transactions on Autonomous Mental Development Outstanding Paper Award was created in 2013 and has been given to outstanding papers published on IEEE Transactions on Autonomous Mental Development every year (the journal is renamed IEEE Transactions on Cognitive and Developmental Systems in 2016). This year, the selection is made among all papers published on the journal in 2015. The awards ceremony will be held at the 2018 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
